About: Born in 1942 in Santo Amaro Purificação, a small city in the state of Bahia, started professionally in 1966, he recorded his first album in 1967 and since then has already published 51, published several books, composed music for film and has several times around the world, where all the public recognize this not only for his incredible talent as a composer and performer, but also for his boundless love for change, innovation and continuous flow of new musical and poetic ideas . Each of his visits to Argentina is always an event, and these new shows with the young 'banda Ce' to present his latest recording material "zii e zie" will be no exception.
About "zii e zie": This is the latest album by Caetano Veloso, one of the great artists of Brazil, beyond being one of the seminal figures of popular music since the late 60'-still in an innovative artistic quest. "Zii e zie" ('aunts and uncles') is the mysterious and playful Italian title of this new album that, as the modern successor to the EC, from its conception shows an update of one of the most representative rates Brazilian music like samba. 'Transamba / Transrock' are appropriate captions that explain a bit the concept album: new sambas are created specifically to be performed by the 'bandaCê' group stripped-sound rock composed of young and talented guitar Pedro Sá , Ricardo Dias Gomes on bass and Fender Rhodes, and Marcelo Callado on drums, which became the vehicle for the music of Caetano in the last four years, from one amazing album and live tour. By having the explicit intention of going a step forward but with a base in a traditional rhythm of their own country, "zii e zie" as a whole is perhaps more attractive than its predecessor for the traditional public Veloso, because here the songs have that rare virtue of sounding more 'TRADICONAL' but keeping the interest from the younger generation rockers.
